Metal Reactivity Simulation

Instructions

This simulation allows you to react a strip of metal with Hydrochloric Acid (HCl). The reaction stops when either the Metal has run our OR the HCl has run out. This reaction produces hydrogen gas, which bubbles to the surface. The general reaction is:
metal + acid --> salt + Hydrogen

Variables

Select the type of metal
Temperature: xx
(Degrees C)
Length of Metal: xx
(cm)

Concentration of Acid: xx
(M)
Volume of Acid: xx
(ml)

Controls

Run Time (s)
metal mass remaining (mg)
HCl remaining (millimoles)
